Boris welcomes you to London and the XXX Olympiad

Today after due British ceremonial scepticism, cynicism, and complaints about special Olympic traffic lanes, we in the United Kingdom are starting to feel the excitement of the imminent official start of the London Olympics.

Your favourite blog is caught up in the excitement and will be cheering on Team GB and all those who show true sportsmanship.

For those of you who may be coming to watch we have been able to gain special access to the Mayor of London, the renowned classics scholar and consumer of all things Patrick Leigh Fermor, Boris Johnson, to bring you this exclusive welcome.

Let the Games begin!

Mr. Johnson may be a “consumer of all things Patrick Leigh Fermor” but he most certainly doesn’t share Paddy’s fondness for continental Europe. Pity.

    Sorry Tom. No.
    a) don’t devalue the site by association with the Dystopic Games
    b) don’t give that derisible fraud of a politician credibililty by association.

      Ian. Three points.

      1. It is a mash-up by cassetteboy who does wonderful stuff like this on You Tube all the time.
      2. It is an Olympic tradition to have a truce during the Olympics, including politics, so a two pint beer penalty to you for next time we meet.
      3. It is funny. Where is your sense of humour? 🙂

      All the best!

      Tom

I am suitably chastened sir. I assumed it was Cameron’s fag using the games for self-aggrandisement. 2 pints of bitter I assume. BTW OT would you like me to send a picture of the Trumpington monument I mentioned elsewhere
